The Art of Self Care Retreat

Stress and the push to over-achieve in our culture can reduce our ability to be productive and create an undertone of ‘not good enough’ in our lives (even when we’ve accomplished a great deal). We expect to be able to do it all – successful career, generous family care-giver, fit and beautiful, joyful and happy. Our high expectations of ourselves combined with the daily stresses of our world can leave us feeling fatigued and depleted.

The practices in the Art of Self-Care result in greater vitality, productivity, confidence and joy. In this weekend retreat we connect with the natural world, our highest selves and community to remember how to effectively care for our bodies and minds. We focus on redefining self-care beyond the stereotypical bubble bath or spa treatment to small yet potent choices we make on a daily basis. Self-care doesn’t have to be all about sitting still, it can be adventurous and fun!

Anna and Sommerville incorporate their respective knowledge and expertise in Ayurvedic wellness principles, yoga, stand up paddleboarding, mindfulness/meditation, mental health, and nervous system regulation through Somatic Experiencing. This is a nurturing weekend for adventurous, high performing women seeking greater vitality, joy and stress management in their daily life.

 

Spring (March 23 – 25, 2018)

  • New Beginnings
  • How to create new possibility in our lives
  • Cleansing the body and mind of the heaviness and cold of winter in preparation for the heat and fullness of summer.

Spring Retreat Schedule: Friday 6 – 8 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (lunch included)  Sunday 9 a.m. – noon (lunch on your own) 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Summer (Coming 2019)

  • Adventure and Challenging our Beliefs
  • How to keep ourselves balanced and cool while in the hot, busy and long days of summer.
  • Activity on the water – stand up paddleboarding and SUP yoga!

Summer Retreat Schedule: Friday 9 a.m. – noon (lunch on your own) 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m. – noon (lunch on your own) 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday 9 a.m. – noon (lunch on your own) 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Winter (November 9 – 11, 2018)

  • Specific stress management strategies for the Holiday Season whether you love it or dislike it.
  • Ayurvedic strategies on counteracting the variable, rough and dry qualities of fall and early winter season.

Winter Retreat Schedule: Friday arrive between 5 and 6 p.m. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Opening Circle 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday pre-breakfast yoga at 7 – 8 a.m. breakfast 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Programming from 9:30 a.m. – noon. Lunch 12:30 – 2 p.m. Programming from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Dinner 6:30 p.m. Camp Fire after dinner! Sunday pre-breakfast yoga at 7 – 8 a.m. breakfast 8:30 a.m. Programming 8:30 a.m. – noon, lunch 12:30 – 2 p.m. Programming 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Price includes: Friday evening session, full day on Saturday, full day on Sunday + lunch on Sunday provided. Programming includes two yoga classes, Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle, and psychotherapeutic strategies for health and stress management with experts in their field, guided meditation, a personalized daily self care routine to take home with you based on your unique constitution and the season. Accommodations not included.

$450.00 Summer

Price includes: Full day on Friday that includes a stand up paddleboard lesson + SUP yoga! All boards, leashes, PFDs, paddles and anchors included. Full day on Saturday, full day on Sunday + cooling teas and juices.  In addition to SUP and SUP yoga, programming includes two yoga classes, Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle, and psychotherapeutic strategies for health and stress management with experts in their field, guided meditation, a personalized daily self care routine to take home with you based on your unique constitution and the season. All meals are on your own and accommodation is not included.

$495.00 Fall/Winter

Friday evening session, full day on Saturday, full day on Sunday + accommodation based on double occupancy and all meals starting Friday dinner and ending Sunday lunch. Programming includes two yoga classes, Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle, and psychotherapeutic strategies for health and stress management with experts in their field, guided meditation, a personalized daily self care routine to take home with you based on your unique constitution and the season.
