Her DVD Yoga for Kayaking with Anna Levesque and Joe Taft has taken off with over 1500 copies sold to date!  Thousands of kayakers and yoga students have benefited from Anna’s yoga in reduced pain, enhanced comfort during and after kayaking, reduced stress and enhanced focus and relaxation.  Her yoga as physical therapy approach focuses on aligning and balancing the muscles and bones of the body for pain reduction, greater range of motion, strength and balance.

California Kayaker Magazine recently published a review of the Yoga for Kayaking DVD in their Summer 2011 issue. The author states that “I own a boat that has never been very comfortable for me to sit in.  In just a short while of sitting in it, my legs would fall asleep.  But after two weeks of doing the (Anna and Joe’s) routines, this sleepy-leg syndrome was greatly reduced.”

Anna is a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, having had a steady practice for over ten years and having completed over 300 hours of yoga teacher training (working toward her 500 hr ERYT).

Anna’s On-Going All-Levels Weekly Yoga Class

Dates: Tuesday nights

Time: 5:45 – 7:00 pm

Where: Town and Mountain Training Center in Asheville, NC

Cost: $10 per class, series of 10 for $90

Yoga for Kayaking Weekend Workshop in Asheville, NC

This weekend intensive is designed to bring heightened awareness to our paddling muscles for injury prevention, pain reduction, increased comfort and better paddling performance.   We’ll learn how to stretch the muscles that we over-use and strengthen the muscles that we under-use in kayaking for better overall alignment on and off the water. Each session will be spent practicing yoga as well as learning the anatomy and body mechanics of paddling and alignment.  At the end of the weekend you’ll come away with an in-depth knowledge of paddling anatomy, how you can prevent common paddling injuries, reduce pain and be familiar with yoga poses that you can practice at home.  Breathing techniques to reduce nerves and anxiety on the river will also be part of this life and paddling enhancing weekend.  This workshop is open to both men and women.  All levels – no previous yoga experience necessary.



9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Feet, knees and hips
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Shoulders and neck

Participants can do an evening paddle on Section 9 of the French Broad or at the Ledges Park on the French Broad.

9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Core strengthening and balance

Participants will have the afternoon off to go paddle before going home!

Cost: $275.00 includes all yoga props.
