Women’s Paddlefest

Women’s Paddlefest

Join us for the 4th Annual Women’s Paddlefest hosted by the NOC!

Mark your calendars for June 3-5, 2022!

This festival is all about creating community by connecting, sharing, paddling and supporting each other on the river.

It’s based at the Nantahala Outdoor Center offering trips on different rivers for all skill levels and is open to all women in all water craft!

Donations and registration benefit the Shannon Christy Memorial Fund, an organization that supports women’s empowerment non-profits.

Our sponsors have donated aDagger Kayak of choice, a Werner paddle and NRS gear among other prizes to be raffled off on Saturday night!

Your registration fee includes a t-shirt, dinner, raffle tickets and shuttles for river trips! Additional raffle tickets can be purchased on-site and we want to raise as much money as possible so bring cash to buy tickets and increase your chances of walking away with a new kayak, paddle and gear!

Non-profits we’ve supported through the Shannon Christy Memorial Fund:

  • Outdoor Afro
  • Our Voice, rape crisis center
  • The American Canoe Association elite female slalom athlete grant
  • Ascend (sponsored 2 young Afghan girls who resettled in Western North Carolina in 2021)

Age Limit?

We’d love to have as many ladies and their mamas, and little ladies join us for snacks and the raffle at the end! Due to the awesomely large turnout of ladies on the water, we ask that children be at least 12 years of age to participate, competent swimmers and accompanied by an adult guardian.
