Summer 2015 will be remembered as the premiere season of the Ladies Southeast Paddling Series. Over the course of four months and seven rivers, 176 ladies joined us in meet-up style events to create amazing, fun memories and to celebrate the life of Shannon Christy. $1660 was raised for the Shannon Christy Memorial Fund, which—drumroll please—is now officially recognized by the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina! Ultimately, we hope to use the funds to support organizations who empower and support women and girls. We were touched by everyone’s support last summer, and are very excited to announce that the Ladies Southeast Paddling Series is returning in 2016!

Like last summer, the series will consist of various meet-up paddling events at different rivers IMG_0804representing a range of skill levels. Raffle tickets to win some sweet day prizes, courtesy of our sponsors, will be given to each participant at each event. Additionally, each participant will be able to purchase tickets for the master drawing at the end of the series (all proceeds going to the Shannon Christy Memorial Fund). Prizes include a Dagger kayak of your choice, a Werner paddle and a paddling trip to Ecuador courtesy of Girls at Play and Endless River Adventures! Amazing!!

Our goal is to raise $8000.00 this summer so that the fund gains longevity and we hope you’ll join us, have fun and donate generously. Suggested minimum donation is $25.00 per event.

How I reset my roll

OK, stop. Do one of your demo quality rolls. My husband made his request while laughing AND in a tone that I also knew he meant business. I had been carping rolls all morning and it was freaking me out, but it was frustrating to Andrew because he knows that I know how to roll.
