We Love Creek Weeks!

We Love Creek Weeks!

After last year’s successful Creek Week word spread fast and we were psyched that it was popular enough this year to add a second week!  Asheville is the perfect setting for creeking as there are several Class III+ – IV creeks within an hours drive in every direction. We had a number of returning women, and new faces from all over the US and Canada join us for world class paddling and learning.

Scouting Hammer Factor

This particular clinic is by far our most advanced and most challenging physically, emotionally and mentally both for the students and for the instructors.  The women who were here to learn all had their own unique challenges and ups and downs, and as instructors we have to be on our game with safety, decision making, showing the lines and coaching.  Paddling Class IV is intense in every aspect as it requires physical exertion, mental stamina and emotional awareness.  Creek Week is an amazing journey and we’re proud to have the highly trained and experienced staff to be able to run these courses and so grateful for all of the women who rose to face the challenge!  Here are a few photos from both weeks.

And here’s a short video of what women had to say about their experience in Creek Week:
